The high content of molybdenum and chromium make the alloy resistant to chloride ions, and the tungsten element further improves its corrosion resistance. One of the few materials in C276 that can resist the corrosion of humid chlorine, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide solutions, the alloy has significant corrosion resistance to high concentrations of salt chloride solutions (such as ferric chloride and copper chloride).
